Suspension for the VW GTI

Nearly every GTI leaves the factory with a little too much wheel gap and a little too much body roll for how the chassis can actually corner. Lowering springs on the factory dampers tighten the look and the turn-in cheaply; coilovers buy you real ride-height and damping adjustment when you want to dial it in. Whatever you pick, budget for the supporting parts — endlinks and an alignment after — or you'll chew tires and rattle.
